5 Tips to Stay Fit this December

It’s that time of the year again.
Our favorite season, CHRISTMAS!

When friends and families re-unite and celebrate.
Most of the time, gaining gifts is not all you get during the holidays, but gaining WEIGHT too.
Why wait for January to create your New Year’s Resolution and get back in shape?

Start now!

Here are Five Festive Tips to Stay Fit and Fun this December

1. PLAN AHEAD

Your calendars will be booked with family gatherings, office Christmas parties, annual get-together with friends, Christmas shopping, etc.  Plot your work-out schedule in your calendar and COMMIT TO IT (no exceptions and no excuses).  That way, “I have no time to work-out” will be impossible.  If you plan ahead, you can avoid gaining pounds while still enjoying the holidays. Create simple but reasonable goals. Remember the key is consistency.

2.  WORK-OUT AT HOME

December always means “intense heavy traffic” and busy schedules.  No time to go to the gym or do your regular weekday run because you have to attend a Christmas party the night before?  Try core exercises or use your bodyweight. Do burpees, jumping jacks, push-ups or lunges to help burn those holiday bulges. A ten minute workout will make a big difference.  Just keep yourself active to stay fit.

3.  WATCH WHAT YOU EAT

Avoid that second serving. Getting another serving of lechon at the buffet table perhaps means, an extra set of burpees or maybe a kilometer or two on your regular weekday run.  So entertain that “second thought” before going for seconds.

4. GO EASY ON THE ALCOHOL

It’s always fun to drink up and be merry with family and friends, but excessively drinking in a short period of time is one of the main reasons why we pack those holiday bulges even before December ends.  So limit your drink to a glass of wine or two, and think of your workout plan the next day – the feeling you get after that workout the next morning is definitely worth it!

5. HAVE A #FITSPIRATION

When December ends, we’re only a quarter away from posting our selfies at the beach while wearing that bikini again.  If you have  a #fitspiration, you know that it requires discipline to become fit. If you don’t have a fitspiration yet, try searching “#fitspiration” on Instagram or Google images, you’ll know that I mean. :)
